The Destination

Some moments in life are perfect.  I want to catch this one moment and hide it in the crevices of my heart to find again, when life is not so beautiful and I need a reminder of good.

A day with a friend.

Warm sand between my toes.  Cool water rushing over bare feet.

Sun and sky greeting a winter-worn body.

Finding the perhaps perfect spot for a friend.

We pursued.
We traveled.
We arrived.
We found.

Goodness caught with
       a perfect moment recognized.
And tomorrow, I go home.
I will travel my journey on my path
in the pursuit of goodness still to come.
The next destination waiting to be revealed
in the perfection of another moment,

I am grateful for our hosts.  A big thank you to Stacey, Tara, Dana, Betsy and Anna from Two Writing Teachers for dedicating space and time for teachers and teachers of literacy to come together to share ideas, practice and life experience.
