AMAZING GRACE

Today I reach gratefully to this most amazing day.
To the birds who launch the day, chirping sweetly
in the arborvitae alongside the window.
To a dawn cracking boldly through the stroke between
earth and sky shifting from dark to light.
To a warming world where the last of the blackened snow melts
                replaced by green breaking through
                          remnants of crusted winter.

I reach gratefully to this most amazing day.
To grace that allows me to see the freshness of beginnings.
To grace that opens me to heal hurts and surrender to a kiss.
To grace that stirs me to dance with abandon, touch with wonder
                and live in the paradox.

I reach gratefully to this most amazing day.
Anticipating the mystery of a day unfolding
Saluting what has been as a shaping of this day
Suspending past and future for the now…
I reach gratefully to this most amazing moment
of chirping birds in the arborvitae outside my window.
Welcoming my reach, inviting me to be amazed in the now.

Grace…it is amazing

With gratitude to Ruth, who shares her blog space to welcome all of our celebrations.

  4. "To the birds who launch the day, chirping sweetly..." I love this line. Last night I slept with the windows open for the first time this spring, and I smiled when I heard the birds chirping bright and early. Beautiful poem!
