Yesterday evening I went to a book signing of a friend and
newly published author. Amy
VanderWater’s book Forrest Has a Song, illustrated
by Robbin
Gourley, was released yesterday to the general public. A delightful evening was spent, celebrating
Amy’s lovely book with friends, colleagues and family. I came home and devoured the pages, filled
with poetry within a forest and across seasons.
I will now savor each highly crafted poem, as will students and teachers
that I teach—this is a book for all!

Congratulations, Amy!
Sounds like it was special on many levels!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Deb! It was the best that you were there, and even though we couldn't sit and chat for hours...it meant a lot to me to know you were there. Thank you for joining our family on such a special night. You've seen this journey, and I'm glad you were with us. Love, Amy xo
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I follow Amy's Poetry Farm via Facebook and just love it. I use her poems as mentor texts with students and get ideas for lesson plans from the notes she writes with the poems on the site. She is so talented! This book is on my to read list. I can't wait to check it out!
ReplyDeleteDeb, sorry I missed this earlier. How lucky you are to be there with Amy on her big night. I've been able to get to know her these past years through blogging and love her blog, and now the book! I just received mine yesterday and will be writing about it soon. I hope you had a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteIsn't the trailer beautiful, Linda. I am glad you were able to see this today.
